  • How many problems can a leader solve in a day?
  • How much attention and energy is needed by a leader to be constantly solving problems?
  • Is it really easier for leaders to tackle problems for themself, vs. asking someone else to do it?
  • How empowered does your team feel, and how does that empowerment translate daily?
  • What does it look like when team members feels empowered to find solutions to problems?

This month’s we’re exploring the concepts and practices of empowerment, problem-solving and thriving. What exactly is empowerment, and how do we empower another individual - and a team? We’ll deconstruct empowerment, starting with reflection on times when you felt truly empowered, and examine factors present when you didn’t feel empowered. What are the rewards - and risks - with empowering team members?

There are many different approaches and models for problem-solving. What would need to be present for a leader not to have to solve problems themselves, but to create a team environment in which colleagues had the awareness and skills to identify problems, assess possible solutions, and then communicate the choices effectively and proactively?

What are the connections between empowerment, problem-solving and building a thriving team? What does it mean to thrive vs. survive? We’ll examine the practices, mindsets and daily skills that can bring a felt sense of thriving to your team and workplace.
